This weekend (May 3rd-5th) of the VAFA season represents VAFA Community Umpiring Round.
Umpires are the unsung heroes of Community Sport with over 450 VAFAUA umpires involved in the VAFA competition. VAFA Clubs are also supported by 100’s of Club umpires who take on the role of Field, Boundary and Goal umpires on a weekly basis.
This VAFA Community Umpiring Round represents a great opportunity for VAFA clubs and stakeholders to acknowledge the people that allow football to be played each week. Clubs can show their support of VAFA and Club Umpires by acknowledging their role on game day, shaking hands with umpires before and after games or inviting umpires into club rooms for a drink or meal after matches.
